REGENERATION EXPERT JOINS HUMBER PORTS DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Able UK has announced the appointment of a leading regeneration expert to play a central role on developing its key sites on Humberside

Marcus Walker brings to his role as Development Director – Humberside over 30 years’ experience in the public and private sectors, including leading North Lincolnshire Council’s Planning and Regeneration Directorate.

During his period with the authority, he was involved in some of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK, including the Humber Ports Port application, securing £150million of investment to improve access to the South Humber ports and leading work on a major housing and mixed-use regeneration scheme at the Lincolnshire Lakes.

In recent years working in the private sector, he has been involved in leisure developments in the North West, including the development of Blackpool’s first five-star hotel.

Says Mr Walker “I am delighted to be joining one of the country’s most ambitious and enterprising businesses operating across a wide range of sectors, including being at the heart of exploiting the huge opportunities in the green energy revolution.

“Humber Ports, including the Marine Energy Park and Logistics Park, is potentially Europe’s largest new port development and has been identified by the UK Government as a strategic location in the National Renewable Infrastructure Plan.

“I believe that we can play a major role in transforming the economy and opportunities for the South Bank of the Humber and the wider region.”
