Asbestos

ABLE Group has been involved with asbestos removal for over 30 years and has held licences to operate with asbestos and hazardous wastes since the Health & Safety Executive first introduced the requirement in 1984. The Company has acquired substantial in depth experience in handling these sensitive materials to the highest safety standards. All activities relating to this aspect of demolition are carried out with careful regard and protection of all personnel and adherence to the environment.

An impressive list of projects includes the largest ever external asbestos removal contract executed in Europe. This contract involved the clearance of asbestos from a 10+ hectares ship dismantling yard to allow for the construction of a new nuclear submarine facility at Faslane, Scotland.

Asbestos projects are executed by ABLE from minor small works for local authorities to major works within power stations, which can include up to 5,000 tonnes of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) from a single project.
