Decommissioning
ABLE's
experience and capability together with the advantage of the TERRC,
BRIE and Middlesbrough Port facilities offer a unique service to the
offshore industry for decommissioning offshore and structures.
ABLE, utilising the Best Practicable Environmental Option ('BPEO'), decommission
in the following order:-
-
Reuse the complete structure 'as is' / refurbish as required.
-
Reuse parts of the structure 'as is' / refurbish as required.
-
Reuse equipment 'as is'/refurbish as required.
-
Reuse items as construction materials, eg plate, piping, structural
steel, etc.
-
Recycle the maximum quantity of the balance.
-
Dispose of the minimum quantity as waste.
On
completion of the works, a Completion Document is issued. This provides
a bible of the contract and specifically addresses the details
of disposal thus providing a 'cradle-to-grave' statement of fact
which meets ever increasing stringent environmental requirements.
ABLE
has achieved reuse and recycling success in excess of 98% of 50 plus offshore
structures received to date.
ABLE
have passed numerous Health Safety & Environmental audits directly
by clients and consultants on behalf of clients. All work is carried out
in accordance with an integrated management system.
