Drill Cuttings TERRC has been developed and has permissions to receive, treat and dispose of drill cuttings and dredged materials. Drill cuttings may be contaminated with lubricating oils and heavy metals or sulphides. At TERRC drill cuttings can be processed and treated to produce a secondary aggregate, with any contaminated material being landfilled at Seaton Meadows Landfill situated adjacent to TERRC. The infrastructure on TERRC prevent pollution of ground and surface waters, to maximise the quantity of material that can be used and to ensure wastes from the operation are fully assessed prior to disposal. Dredgings from industrial waterways may be contaminated with pollutants ranging from hydrocarbons and heavy metals, to pesticides and PCBs. The dredgings are processed and uncontaminated material be stored for reuse and, subject to Waste Acceptance testing, contaminated materials disposed of at Seaton Meadows. Such an integrated
infrastructure and disposal network offers an unrivalled disposal service
for both drill cuttings and dredgings offering the BPEO. |
