Teesside Environmental Reclamation and Recycling Centre (TERRC) The TERRC facility is located on the Seaton Channel close to the mouth of the River Tees. The facility is licensed by the Environment Agency as a marine structure, ship and metal recycling site and has an infrastructure specifically designed for the decommissioning of offshore or other structures and ships, which may include hazardous materials. A specially constructed decontamination unit facilitates the removal of Low Specific Activity (LSA) scale from equipment. The site is well secured and has planning permission for a wide variety of waste management activities including waste transfer, composting, and recycling aggregates. Wastes generated from the decommissioning or decontamination of equipment are recycled or disposed of either at in-house facilities, or thoroughly audited third party facilities. The TERRC facility offers ideal solutions for wastes, given its location close to our Seaton Meadows landfill site, and company expertise in the management of hazardous wastes. The TERRC facility offers excellent sea access via its deep water quay for the transportation of materials in bulk for recycling. |
