ABLE Removes Piles of Glass and Waste Items from Saltmarsh Site of Special Scientific Interest

On Monday 13^th September Able UK removed 1.6t of mixed waste including piles of glass from the saltmarsh to the north of East Halton Skitter in partnership with Humber Nature and Keep Britain Tidy. The site has special scientific interest so it was important that the refuse was removed in a safe and timely manner.

It was decided rather than volunteers moving the glass with shovels into containers for removal by North Lincolnshire Council as originally planned, it would be safer and quicker if a digger, trailer and two colleagues supplied by Able could be used to safely remove the glass and take it for disposal.

“Just wanted to say thank you so much to Able UK for helping with this. Two Able colleagues attended the site yesterday and quickly removed the glass and a couple of other large items from the saltmarsh yesterday and it looks great!”
